Rural Development

Amahoro Energy is poised to serve a region with no access to electricity. This region suffered significantly during the period of insecurity caused by rebel forces intermittently crossing the border from the Congo in the period 1994 to 1999. As a result, this region lags behind many others in development. The population is entirely rural, with dense population settled on land of only moderate fertility. The production of electricity could transform the regional economy.
